I swipe my card at the gas pump, punch all the buttons it tells me, fill up, and then I wait for the receipt to print out. And wait. And wait. Finally I look at the screen and it says "See cashier for receipt". What is the point of paying at the pump if I have to go inside anyway? At that point, I just get in the car and leave. I could say that I'm trying to prove a point, but I think it's mostly laziness.
